How to choose batteries
Ni-Alkaline,
NiMH, NiCD, Alkaline, Heavy duty, Lithium
|
Characteristics of Ni-Alkaline Batteries |
|
Ni-Alkaline is latest developed
technology of NiMH batteries, which has extremely
low self-discharge characteristics and standby for
use over years after charge. It can completely
replace Alkaline battery in all applications but
with stronger power, more energy and recharge over
1000cycles.
Only AA and AAA currently
available.
Cost a little high but hottest
recently.
Voltage: 1.2V/cell |
|
|
Characteristics of NiMH Batteries |
|
NiMH is standard environmental
friendly battery. It is rechargeable for 1000cycles.
The standard battery need to charge before and
standby for 3 months to 1 year.
There are all sizes available,
F,D,C,SC,A,AA,B,N,AAA,4A,5A,9V
There are also different
characteristic for choose, high power, high
temperature, low temperature, standby charging, etc.
Voltage: 1.2V/cell |

|
Characteristics of Ni-Cd Batteries |
|
Ni-Cd batteries is going to be
forbidden in Europe and most country. The Cadmium (Cd)
is hazardous to human health. It is mostly replaced
by NiMH batteries.
Price is a little lower than NiMH
batteries in same capacity comparison.
Voltage: 1.2V/cell

|
Characteristics of Lithium Batteries |
|
Lithium Batteries are high in
energy density, but require PCB protection
circuit for charging and discharging.
However, lithium batteries can catch fire when
improperly used, and single cell voltage is 3.7V 3
times higher than NiMH. Polymer is another option
which can do better in safety concern.
Voltage: 3.7V/cell |

|
Characteristics of Alkaline Batteries |
|
Alkaline Batteries is primary
battery and only use for 1 time. Mostly applied in
standby power or simple electronic equipments.
Most common sizes: AA, AAA, C, D,
9V
Voltage: 1.5V/cell
|
|
|
Characteristics of Heavy Duty Batteries |
|
Heavy Duty Batteries is primary
battery and only use for 1 time. Mostly applied in
standby power or simple electronic equipments.
Capacity is lower than Alkaline batteries but energy
is much lower. Mostly used in toys and gift items.
Voltage: 1.5V/cell |

How to Choose batteries |
|
1) Consumer application-
Ni-Alkaline, NiMH, Alkaline and heavy duty
2) Industrial application-
consult JeffPower
3) Sizes - F,D,C,AA,AAA,N,B,9V,SC
etc
4) Cost - Cheap heavy duty and
Alkaline
5) Endurance - Ni-Alkaline, NiMH,
Lithium
6) Recycle or one time use - you
decide.
7) Weight - Lithium
8) In case high quality lead-acid battery need to be
used, NCSLA is absolutely the best choice.

NCSLA |
|
NCSLA is improved version of SLA,
which do not physically contain liquid electrolyte.
The structure of container for
electrolyte is nano scale particles which is
in-house development of Jeff Power Co. Ltd.
The micro structure of particles
give excellent characteristics and performance of
NCSLA, inluding :
High Temperature performance
65deg C
Low temperature performance
-40deg C
Recovery from over discharge( 0
Volt )
5 times cycle life( Over 1000
cycles )
Resistance to Vibration
Safe to transport
High Power for Jump Starting |
